GENEROUS Wokingham shoppers donated more than 300 to Hurst Morris People's fundraising in aid of sick children.

The morris dancing and fundraising sessions at Wokingham town hall were organised by HuMP musicians Amanda and David Prince.

Their niece Lucy, 8, has a rare and complex condition which is treated by gastroenterologists at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

Mrs Prince said: "We'd like to thank those freezing cold Wokingham shoppers who stopped to dig deep into purses and pockets to give 318 in aid of the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

The event was HuMP's final one for its year of fundraising in aid of GOSH. Funds have come from their dance out sessions, a Hurst Horse Show and Country Fair stall and at an afternoon tea.
