A BLOGGER chosen to report on the Olympics says the atmosphere has been 'electric'.

Lewis Styles, 24, from Easthampstead, was one of 76 people chosen out of 3,000 applicants to be a Samsung Global Blogger, covering the action at the Games.

Mr Syles said on being at the Games in London each day: "It's obviously only going to happen once in my lifetime so it's just a great opportunity given to me by Samsung. I can't really describe what the atmosphere is like - it's just electric." So far, he has been in Hyde Park for the broadcasting of the opening ceremony, and has watched some of the equestrian, tennis, diving and swimming events.

This included seeing USA swimmer Michael Phelps become the Olympian with the most medals after he bagged his 19th when securing gold in the men's 4x200m freestyle relay.

Mr Styles, a former student at Easthampstead Park Community School, said: "It was amazing. I had a bunch of American fans behind me and they just went absolutely berserk.

"It was just a great experience." Also, on Tuesday, July 31, Mr Styles interviewed chef Jamie Oliver, who is backing the Samsung Hope Relay, which allows smartphone users to download and app, create an avatar and complete a mile run. For every mile, Samsung will donate 1 to charitable organisations supported by the Samsung Hope for Youth programme and London 2012's sports legacy program, International Inspiration.

Mr Styles said: "He was just a really nice bloke." Mr Styles was recruited through an MSN competition and since the beginning of the year he has also attended the Innsbruck 2012 Youth Winter Olympics and carried the Olympic Torch in Birmingham.
