YOUNGSTERS explored the properties of camouflage during workshops at a military museum.

Children aged five to 12 visited the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (Reme) Museum of Technology in Arborfield for the sessions on Thursday last week.

They learnt about how camouflage works and how patterns have changed over the years.

The activities were organised as part of the summer holiday programme organised by the museum in Isaac Newton Road.

The next workshops will be Thursday-Friday, August 23-24, when children can learn how to make a mini shelter in 15 minutes. Booking is not required for the sessions at 11am, noon and 2pm.

Throughout the summer until Sunday, September 9, visitors to the museum can take part in a treasure hunt to enter a prize draw for the chance to win the contents of the treasure chest.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The museum is open 9am-4.30pm Monday-Thursday, 9am-4pm on Fridays and 11am-4pm on Sundays.

Standard entry is 5 for adults, 4 for children aged five upwards and free for children under five.
