LEGENDARY soul group The Real Thing are set to perform live at Norden Farm next month.
The group were formed in Liverpool in the 1970s and were acclaimed for putting the city back on the map musically.
They became known for collaborating with David Essex, and touring internationally with him.
They are best known for their chart success with their huge hit ‘You To Me Are Everything’, which was number 1 in the UK.
In total they had three hit singles in the 1970s, each selling a million copies each.
The Real Thing went on to release four studio albums, with a string of hits, and enjoyed a resurgence in the late 1980s with remixes of several of their hits. Most recently they have been seen at festivals across the UK, and worked alongside artists such as Rick Astley, Boy George and Belinda Carlisle.
Their hit ‘Children of the Ghetto’ has been covered by artists including jazz saxophonist Courtney Pine and Mary J Blige.
After an incredible forty years in the business, the three original vocalists Chris and Eddie Amoo and Dave Smith return to the stage with their own five piece band.
They will be performing all of their hit tracks, including ‘Can’t Get By Without You’, ‘Feel The Force’ and ‘I Can’t Help Myself’.
