A TOP chef has launched a new cookery school in the heart of Slough Trading Estate.

Kitchen Craft, which is part of Haybrook College in Burnham Lane, was launched at the trading estate by Ashley Palmer-Watts, head chef at Heston Blumenthal's Dinner restaurant.

Kitchen Craft, which was opened in October, will help pupils from Slough schools learn the skills to be successful in the hospitality industry and will offer a range of Level 1 and Level 2 catering and hospitality courses.

Helen Huntley, executive headteacher at Haybrook College, said: "We're delighted to be launching our new catering offer, Kitchen Craft, at the College. "Research shows that there is high demand for catering training and qualifications in Slough and this new facility will help those individuals develop the skills needed to work in the hospitality sector or move onto higher education.

"I have no doubt that the classes will inspire real self confidence in the pupils as they learn and succeed in their abilities to produce fabulous foods."

Guests at the launch Wednesday, October 24, sampled an impressive array of food made by aspiring chefs.

For more information about Kitchen Craft, contact Wendy Andrews, at Haybrook College on 01628 696 077.
