AMBITIOUS plans to plough more than £100m into transforming the face of town centre shopping have been revealed.

The Queensmere Shopping Centre will be 'revitalised' in an image makeover to create a 'new vibrant social scene' packed with new shops, restaurants and cafes.

The multi-million pound proposals, by Queensmere Observatory Shopping Centre owners Criterion Capital, will change the Slough skyline with five new buildings - ranging between 14 and 19 storeys high - offering 911 new homes.

Byron and Linden House, which both sit 14 storeys high in Common Road, Langley, are currently the tallest residential buildings in Slough.

Michael Hughes, head of development at Criterion Capital, said: "Our plans will breathe new life into the shopping centre and improve the overall feel of the town centre."

Members of the development team will be at the centre, in High Street, today (Friday) from 3-7.30pm and tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am-2pm.
