AN EVENT promoting business partnerships across the county is being welcomed by companies in east Berkshire.
The Collaborating for Growth business show, jointly organised by Berkshire Media Group, publishers of The Observer, and the Thames Valley Local Enterprise Partnership, will bring together hundreds of the region's biggest businesses at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, at Reading's Madejski Stadium, on Wednesday.
There was a quick take-up of the 86 exhibitor stands in the Princess Suite and Windsor Lounge and there is an impressive schedule of keynote speakers including Kevin Gaskell, founder of epyx and former CEO of EurotaxGlass. Kevin's portfolio includes leading iconic brands Porsche, Lamborghini and BMW.
Grundon have a depot in Colnbrook, as well as one in Beenham, west Berkshire, and the company believes the exhibition will bring multiple benefits.
Kevin Brewer, marketing manager at Grundon, said: "I think what we are looking for from the event is two-fold. The event is very well structured in covering the whole of Berkshire.
"The show is a great way of interacting with current and prospective customers in the area."
On what Grundon can offer to businesses attending the exhibition, Mr Brewer added: "Anybody who is involved in waste management these days needs to have complete trust in a company. Increasingly people are very much aware of their environmental responsibility and they look to people like us to offer advice and easy to use facilities."
Rafiq Chohan, managing director at Goldteam Recruitment, in Slough, said: "We want to raise our awareness in Berkshire and tell people about the things we can do in permanent and temporary recruitment."
As well as looking for new customers, Mr Chohan said the event was a perfect opportunity to find businesses which could help them grow as well.
He added: "We are looking for any tools that would help us. There could be business there that can offer us marketing, financial and operational management support. We are looking to grow our business from £8m turnover last year to £13m this year and have just employed four more people."
Amanda Gee, Berkshire Media Group managing director, said: "It is a dynamic, first time event where there are such strong and relevant messages which are key to all organisations of all sizes."
The exhibition runs from 9am-6pm. Tickets are free but must be booked at www.bmgevents.co.uk
