Bees snap up Kelner
ADAM Bicknell has moved to fill the import void left by Jeff Hutchins departure by bringing Roman Kelner to the Hive.
Kelner, 33, has spent most of his career playing in the Czech and Slovakian Extraliga, he also had two years playing in Poland.
The Czech forward is six foot four (6ft 4ins) and over 200 lbs. He is a close friend of Jan Melichar and has been skating with the Bees for the past few weeks.
Bicknell said: “Roman will bring much needed maturity and experience to our offence. He is a natural centreman who is strong on the puck.
After training with us a couple of times it is clear that Roman is confident with the puck and skates very well.
He has a good size and will be very difficult to move from the front of the net. I look forward to working with him for the remainder of the season.”
Subject to international clearance being granted in time, Kelner is expected to make his Bees debut at Swindon on Saturday before icing at the Hive for the first time against Slough on Sunday.
