Fizzers crash to Ash defeat
By Charles Watts
Fizzers boss Pete Browning has been disappointed by his side's start to the season.
SANDHURST Town remain without a point in the Combined Counties League after a 1-0 defeat at Ash United on Tuesday night.
Boss Pete Browning admits it has not been an ideal start by his side but he has confident things will improve quickly.
He said: “It’s no points out of six and that’s not how we wanted to start. We know we need to get things going soon or we’ll find ourselves in the same dog fight as last season and that won’t be fun.
“We haven’t quite clicked yet. Defensively we’re still a bit shaky but I’m sure we can sort that out on the training ground.
“We know we’re a decent side. We’ve got plenty of fire-power going forward so we know the goals will come. Once we sort things out defensively we’ll be alright.”
Ash grabbed their winner on 55 minutes, somewhat against the run of play, but the goal lifted them and they saw out the remainder of the clash relatively unscathed.
Browning added: “It was disappointing to lose because I thought we played relatively well.
“We matched them for the first half and we were on top early in the second but then we gave away a sloppy goal and after that they had the better of things.”
