Duggan arrives at the Hive
By Charles Watts
THE Bracknell Bees have announced the signing of 18-year-old British forward Tom Duggan who has returned to England following a four year stint in America.
Bees coach Adam Bicknell has been chasing the signature of Duggan for a number of weeks and is delighted to have captured his man.
He said: “I am very excited about the signing of Tom. He has impressed me in training and plays with a maturity of years.
“Potentially he can become a leading British forward and he is a real prospect for the future. After meeting with him it was clear he is keen to contribute and wants to win things.”
Duggan started his hockey career with the Bracknell Bumblebees (Under 12s) before moving to Guildford juniors for a couple of seasons.
He then left for America where he played for Shattuck St Mary’s in Minnesota for four years. During that time he was part of teams that won bronze, silver and gold medals at the National Championships.
He was selected to represent Team Minnesota during his spell at Shattuck St Mary’s.
