YOUNG artists showed off their flair in a ceramics painting competition to raise money.

Children painted Pudsey ornaments in aid of Children in Need at Ceramic Fun and raised £134, which was upped to £200 by a donation from Ceramic Fun.

On Tuesday the News called in at the pottery workshop in kennel Lane, Bracknell, and helped picked the best ceramic ornaments in each of the age groups.

Winning the five and under category was Katie Westwood, five, with her traditional waving Pudsey.

Carla Gray, seven, won the six to 10-year-old section also with a waving Pudsey.

The most original and colourful Pudsey was painted by Megan Perrett, 12, who won the 11 to 16s section with her multi-coloured polka dot bear (all pictured above right).

Matt Whiddett, owner of Ceramic Fun, said: “The kids had great fun and it was good to see so many different takes on Pudsey. They did a cracking job – nice and bright with lots of paint on them, even from the one and two-year-olds. It was all about using their imagination.”

Each of the lucky winners will be able to collect their ornament from Ceramic Fun as well as a £20 Woolworths gift voucher.
