Jewellery duo hunt
By Judith Green
POLICE hunting robbers who stole jewellery from a house are appealing for two key witnesses to come forward.
Detectives want to speak to the people who initially approached them anonymously with information about the robbery which took place in Sandhurst last month.
Detective John Cairns, who is leading the investigation said: “I am appealing to two anonymous witnesses who came forward with information to contact me again.”
The incident happened at approximately 11am on Monday, August 4 when two men wearing full face motorcycle helmets and carrying handguns forced their way into a home in Yorktown Road.
After threatening the occupants and tying them up they stole jewellery and valuables worth a substantial sum. Insurers acting for the owners are offering a reward for the safe return of the jewellery which is 5% of the value of any property recovered subject to the conviction of those responsible.
Det. Cairns added: “I would urge these two people to contact me at Maidenhead CID on 08458 505505. Alternatively if they still wish to remain anonymous, I would ask them to provide information by calling the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.”
Police are still investigating the robbery but no arrests have yet been made.
