Fantastic offers at flat season finale

A RACECOURSE is to devote its final flat racemeeting to the men and women of the armed forces.
To close this year’s racing season at Newbury Racecourse servicemen and women will be given free or discounted admission.
The scheme is the latest venture in the Value for Valour campaign set up by the News in a bid to get leisure companies, businesses and organisations around Berkshire to offer discounts to MOD 90 holders.
The race meeting, on Saturday, October 25, will be entirely devoted to members of the armed forces.
And not only is the racecourse offering free entry to all armed forces personnel but it is also offering half-price packages for the Hennessy and Racegoers restaurants and private hospitality boxes at the course.
Managing director of Newbury Racecourse Stephen Higgins said: “With so many Army, Navy and RAF bases in and around the Berkshire area we thought it was only fitting to dedicate a special day at the races to our service men and women.
“We have designed a range of packages from free entry to half price hospitality boxes to provide an option for everyone to enjoy the last flat racemeeting of 2008 at Newbury.”
Offers running on Saturday, October 25, include:
- Free entry for all Armed Forces personnel (maximum of two tickets per person booked in advance based on a military ID number.)
- Half price Bronze Hospitality Deal – £41.50 per person (includes private box, premier entry and car park label, racecard, two-course buffet lunch and coffee).
- Half price packages in restaurants: – £30 per person in Racegoers restaurant (includes grandstand entry, racecard and three-course lunch); £55 per person in Hennessy restaurant (includes premier entry, car park label, racecard, glass of champagne, three-course lunch and half bottle of wine per person, coffee and mints and light afternoon tea).
- Special hospitality facility for injured personnel – Mill Reef Suite (100 people maximum) with trackside viewing, complimentary soft drinks and cash bar with snacks.
MOD 90 card holders need to book by 5.30pm on Friday, October 17, for free admission and half price hospitality prices for the flat season finale at the racecourse.
Offers are only available for Saturday, October 25, and are not available on any other fixture at Newbury Racecourse. They cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer and cannot be purchased on the gate on the day.
